McVie - Veronesi Award

Prof Gordon Mc Vie and Professor Umberto Veronesi co-founded ecancer global foundation. Prof Mc Vie was a world renowned oncologist who was passionate about cancer education. Prof Veronesi is widely acknowledged as one of the pioneers behind world-wide acceptance of conservative surgeries in oncology and this has contributed to improved quality of life of patients.

The ecancer Psycho-Oncology Conference 2024 invites original research presentations from junior clinicians/researchers for consideration for the "McVie - Veronesi Award 2024".

We welcome the submission of original research/audit for the oral presentation session in
the field of psycho-oncology, health psychology, or consultation liaison psychiatry.

Selected papers will be invited for rapid fire oral presentations on 7th Sept 2024 . There will be a jury who will choose the best three presentations for 1st prize (Rs 12,000), 2nd prize (Rs 8000) and third prize ( Rs 6000) and the decision of the jury will be final. The selected candidates will be communicated the format of the presentation.

The last date of submission of the abstract for the presentation will be 20th August 2024. The abstracts are to be submitted online via this link.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

1. All submission is to be done online (click here).

2. Use a word count of 250 words or less (excluding title, keywords, and references)

3. Papers may have multiple authors, and the presenting author must register for and attend the conference

4. The submitting author should input all author details and submit the abstract.

5. All abstracts must be submitted in English

6. Abstracts should have the following headings: Background, Methods, Results and Discussion

7. Last date of abstract submission: 20th August 2024.

8. Corresponding authors of accepted abstracts will be notified over email before 25th August 2024.

Some of the abstracts will be selected for rapid fire oral presentation to be held on 7th Sept 2023. Three best abstracts will be selected for McVie-Veronesi Research Award (1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize). The presenters will be requested to send their presentations by 2nd Sept 2024. The powerpoint format and presentation rules will be communicated to the selected presentations.
